I wish this was required reading for everyone, particularly policy makers.
i wanted to write, people in the health care industry need to read this. But while educational institutions may teach best practice, that does not mean the health care industry will ever institute best practice - unless they're required to by an outside body. It's super depressing. A lot of the ideas in this book that address ways to bolster better health outcomes for all, undermine capitalism, and at this point I certainly can't see the government getting behind the kinds of sweeping changes at every level that this book elucidates.

This book is such a clear map of how we have ended up where we are in the present moment. The path of colonization, systemic oppression, white supremacy, the dehumanization of capitalism. None of this is breaking news but the way it’s presented, the connections that are made, how the systemic view creates the “individual” experience, all of this create a bigger picture of our current experience. As the authors make these connections, they are also tracing the thread, giving us the awareness that can help us detangle from our conditioned collective helpless sense of inevitability.
