ughhhh walking and walking and walking and oh what’s that? MORE WALKING. and then randomly they (thankfully) just sum up days of walking on one page and suddenly they’re at highstones (finally)
okay but one thing i really remember about this series was how much I hated leafpaw’s pov, like she literally gave us absolutely nothing. “oh no the forest is going down” ho we knew that, “oh no hawkfrost kinda looks familiar” nooo, really? “oh no mothwing doesn’t understand the warrior code” she’s been in a clan for all of two seconds, what did you expect???
okay also about mothwing and leafpaw- you cannot tell me that leafpaw doesn’t have a crush on her like EVERY TIME without fail that mothwing randomly appears leafpaw will describe her as beautiful or pretty or something like that. like wow, not even trying to hide it are you, leafpaw??
quick little note: why are stormfur and feathertail literally the exact same level headed boringness like hey can you stop being perfect?? feathertail’s death was sad but like she kinda just fell? I remembered it as being some dramatic sequence of slow motion falling where she gets impaled by the stone and then the stone hits sharptooth but nah, she just falls and dies. also crowpaw and her are soooo random, bro wasn’t even a thought when you were born and now you wanna be with him forever? also I totally forgot that stormfur had a crush on squirrelpaw

These books are endlessly compelling to me. I never thought a book about forest cats would grip my heart so intensely and take me on such emotional journeys with them. While the contents can get dark, these are ultimately stories about loyalty, love, faith, and hope.
